Plan the cost before the move

Your route.
A clearer number.

A planning estimate for standard cars, SUVs, pickups and motorcycles, adjusted by vehicle and transport options. Enter both U.S. ZIP codes to look up a driving route when online routing is enabled, or enter the one-way road miles manually. CAB reviews every estimate.

Enter pickup and delivery ZIP codes to calculate road miles and a planning price. If you are at the pickup location, you can choose to use your current location instead. The browser will ask permission first.

Location permission is optional. It only fills your pickup ZIP, not your delivery ZIP. Check the ZIP before calculating.

With routing enabled, entering two ZIP codes calculates the estimate automatically. You can always enter miles manually.

The right quote for your vehicle

Some moves need
an individual price.

Smaller, roadworthy campers, towable trailers and boats on roadworthy trailers may qualify for a planning price range after you enter their dimensions. Large motorhomes, boats without trailers, oversized loads and unusual equipment require a tailored quote. Tell us the dimensions, condition, access, and dates.

What the estimate assumes

  • Standard cars and smaller specialty loads with known dimensions. Large or oversized loads require review.
  • Open or enclosed transport for cars; suitable carrier or tow-away for eligible specialty loads. Actual equipment is confirmed by CAB.
  • Flexible scheduling, without storage, special permits, unusual loading, or expedited service.
  • The calculator does not book, charge, validate, or redeem a voucher.

A published comparison.
A CAB starting point.

Longer road trips use lower average rates per mile. CAB applies that distance-based pricing within the estimate, without a sudden 20% price drop at mile 501. This published comparison is a research sample, not a nationwide statistical average.

Specialty shipping: RV, trailer and boat calculations show preliminary ranges for eligible roadworthy loads only. They use separate provisional price bands, informed by published transport guides, rather than the standard car tariff. For a valid quote, CAB must check actual dimensions, hitch and trailer condition, route clearances, permits, pickup access and available carriers. An ordinary Google road route is not a permit or clearance-approved truck route. References: A1 travel trailer guide ↗ and Boat transport guide ↗.

At each distance, we used the applicable published value or the midpoint of a published range. The arithmetic mean gives each business equal weight. CAB’s reference total is that mean × distance × 0.94, rounded to cents. Between reference distances, the calculator interpolates total prices. Average rates per mile decrease across longer trips without an abrupt discount at 500 miles.

The sources use different samples and assumptions, and their numbers can change. A real route, vehicle, season, or date can cost a different amount. This is not an independent survey, an industry tariff, or a lowest-price guarantee.
